ID Released For Man Found Dead Inside Town Car In Wyandanch

The identity has been released of the man found dead from an apparent gunshot wound inside a commercial town car on Long Island.

Officers responded to 103 Lake Drive in Wyandanch after a 911 caller reported hearing a crash at approximately 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, July 3. When the officers arrived, they found the man, now identified as Hugh James, of Deer Park, in the driver’s seat with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head, Suffolk County Police said.

The victim, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on the incident to call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
